Biography
Public health physician with more than 20 years experience in health communication and health policy, especially in sexual and reproductive health (SRS), with a focus on family planning, safe motherhood, HIV/AIDS/STIs, breast and cervix cancers. Extensive experience also in communicable diseases and influenza and pandemic preparedness. Experience in working in Europe, both within as well as outside of EU. Familiarity in working with EU, USAID and UN systems. Coordinated health promotion in Romania: modernizing, fundraising, public budget funding. Set up a non-governmental organization (NGO) in 1991 on delivering SRS education for young people using peer education. - "Youth for Youth Foundation" Conducted a series of radio and TV programs on health-related issues. PhD in public health. Member in the Board of Trustees at IUHPE.
